Dispenser

Block

Craft a Dispenser from 7 cobblestone, 1 bow and 1 redstone dust. How it works in redstone builds, plus full stats for Java & Bedrock.

The Dispenser is a Redstone component that activates and uses certain items when powered. It is commonly used in traps, automatic farming, and Redstone contraptions. A Dispenser is crafted using 7 Cobblestone, 1 Bow, and 1 Redstone Dust in a 3×3 crafting grid. It does not generate naturally and must be crafted by the player.

When activated by a Redstone signal, a Dispenser ejects and interacts with items in its inventory. Unlike a Dropper, it uses items instead of just dropping them. For example, it fires arrows, dispenses water and lava from buckets, equips armor onto players or mobs, and places boats and minecarts.

A Dispenser requires a solid block behind it to be powered by a Redstone signal. It can hold up to 9 stacks of items and fires one item at a time when activated. If a Dispenser contains an item it cannot use, it functions like a Dropper and simply ejects the item as an entity. A Dispenser can be mined with any tool, but pickaxes break it the fastest. Unlike a Dropper, a Dispenser interacts with specific items, making it essential for automated defense systems, farming setups, and Redstone-powered mechanisms.
