Pumpkin Seeds are a crop item obtained by crafting a pumpkin, or looting chests in mineshafts and villages. They are used to grow pumpkin crops when planted on tilled farmland.
When planted, Pumpkin Seeds grow through eight stages before producing a pumpkin stem. Unlike other crops, the stem does not break when fully grown but instead spawns pumpkins on adjacent dirt, grass, farmland, or moss blocks. Applying bone meal speeds up the stem’s growth, but it does not affect pumpkin spawning.
