Melon Seeds are a crop item obtained by crafting a melon slice, or looting chests in mineshafts, dungeons, and woodland mansions. They are used to grow melon crops when planted on tilled farmland.
When planted, Melon Seeds grow through eight stages before becoming a melon stem. Unlike other crops, the stem does not break when fully grown but instead spawns melons on adjacent dirt, grass, farmland, or moss blocks. Applying bone meal speeds up the stem’s growth, but it does not affect melon spawning.
